Brickfields Country Park volunteers attended the following events during 1999 with the display stand and several fund raising games, to bring the Park and the work of our volunteers to the publics attention. For further details E–mail
Sunday 4th July, Brickfields Country Park Fun Day. Once again the weather was with us with just the odd shower. Each year the crowds get larger, and our fun day is becoming more and more popular. Provisionally set for the 2nd July 2000 (millennium bug allowing!). Let us know if you would like to come or have suggestions for the day.
Saturday 17th July, The Rushmoor Green Family Fun Day & Flower Festival. A good turn out for this popular event held in the Princes Hall and Gardens, helped this year by the weather being much better. Quite a lot of interest shown in Brickfields Country Park. FBCP are trying to get all of the local conservation groups to cross link their Web pages so that surfers on the Web will be able to find local conservation information for the Blackwater Valley more readily, a good response to this idea was expressed by other exhibitors at the festival.
Sunday 15th August, The Blackwater Valley Kite & Juggling Festival. Well attended this year again, although not as many attractions in evidence. Some interest in Brickfields Country Park and a few useful contacts made.
Sunday 10th October, The Rowhill Nature Reserve Conservation Groups Day. Held again at the Field Center, Cranmore Lane, Aldershot, there were many local environment groups and a few craft demonstrations. Unfortunately it was not very well attended this year with a slow trickle of visitors during the day, however it does provide a good chance to meet other local conservation groups in the area. More publicity would help this event to progress.
